How this index works

Each row is a package currently published on GreenOH by an installer we have verified. Only packages with a complete description, named equipment and a plausible installed price are included. Prices are listed before a site survey, and installers confirm the final figure after visiting.

Using these prices

Compare quotations of the same size and system type, and check that a quote covers panels, inverter, battery, structure, wiring, protection, earthing, labour and transport. A much lower per-watt figure usually means something is missing.

Common questions

Why do bigger solar systems cost less per watt?

Labour, wiring, protection and transport are partly fixed costs. On a larger system they are spread over more capacity, so the price per watt falls as system size goes up.

Do these prices include batteries?

Hybrid packages in this index include lithium battery storage as described on each package page. On-grid systems without batteries cost less, which is one reason online price ranges vary so widely.

Are these final prices?

They are listed prices. Installers confirm the final price after a site survey, because roof type, cable runs and structure height change the cost. Use the index to judge whether a quotation is in a sensible range.
